A cup of tea and some pink flowers

Just a sunny Summer day. Perfect for a cup of tea. Perfect for admiring the pink flowers that are in bloom but have no smell except for the paper scent. Since they are made from paper, lots and lots of paper squares with different shades of pink and green.

Do you remember my Bluebells? Can you believe that this is the same model? Somehow it looks crowdier. Maybe it is because here I didn't apply the symmetry of colors. Maybe it is because this kusudama is half of size the other one. Anyway, it looks different and I am glad.

A couple of things about this origami model. It has 164 pieces. It has an Electra base, that is folded from 60 modules. The assembly is 5 with 4 (12 fives, 30 fours and 20 threes). The flowers are from the book "Hana no kusudama" (Mariko Kubo). They are modular flowers, made from two pieces each: one for the petals and one for the middle. I made them from pentagons and squares.
I had some trouble with the assembly of the Electra modules since they were so tiny (made from 3.5 cm squares). The pentagon flowers were made from 9.8 cm squares and 4.5 cm squares for the middle.  The square flowers were made from 4.5 cm squares and 3.5 cm squares for the middle.
