When Turquoise meets Pink
Turquoise is a blue-green color that takes its name from the gemstone.
The word turquoise is derived from the French turquois, meaning 'Turkish', because the mineral was first brought to Europe by the Turkish from the mines of Persia. The first records of it dates from the 17th century. The gemstone was considered a holy stone and it was used as a talisman in Ancient Egypt. Even today, people are wearing this cheerful stone to help enhance the communication and expression or for healing purposes.
To bring a little bit more cheerfulness to the color, I folded a kusudama decoration combined with pink quilling flowers and accessorized with birds and a dog. The centerpiece is a sonobe variation folded from 30 origami modules linked to 12 modular quilling flowers.
